Why turf gets dirty and smelly
When your dog pees, the liquid drains straight through the green fibers into the infill, the sandy layer around the base of the blades, where bacteria turn it into ammonia. St. George heat over 160 degrees speeds that up, so by July a yard that seemed fine in March can stop you at the back door. A garden hose only pushes it deeper.
A deep clean, not a surface rinse
Professional artificial grass cleaning means treating the infill, not spraying the top. We start with the Spotless Odor Cure, a commercial-grade enzyme that breaks urea, uric acid, and ammonia into odorless components, then extract so the grime comes out instead of getting pushed deeper. It is biodegradable, non-toxic, and safe for pets and kids.
Five steps on a Deep Clean or The Works, every visit, the same way each time. Fresh Start covers steps 1, 2, and 5; add the Spotless Odor Cure enzyme for $79 if odor shows up. You do not need to be home; we text a 30-minute heads-up before we arrive.
We inspect the turf, find the heavy-odor and matted areas, and check infill depth before we touch anything.
We clear leaves, dust, red-rock grit, and hair off the surface and out of the fibers.
We saturate the turf and the hotspots, then give the enzyme time to soak in and break the urine compounds down while we work the rest of the yard.
We pull the broken-down compounds and grime out of the infill, then sanitize. The Works adds deep urine extraction.
We rebloom the fibers, then email before-and-after photos with notes on infill and drainage.
Two ways to get it clean
Every job is a real deep clean. Choose the level by how strong the odor is, or run the instant estimate for your exact square footage.

Our pet-home favorite: a full deep clean that pulls odor and stains out of the turf.
The heavy-duty reset for strong odor, multiple pets, or turf that has gone too long.
Each base covers up to 1000 sq ft, then $0.40 per sq ft above that. Members save up to 20% on every clean, paid per visit: 20% quarterly, 15% bi-annual.
DIY vs professional
You can keep turf healthy between cleans. You cannot fix pet odor with consumer gear. Here is the honest line between the two.
Rinsing and spot-cleaning between visits is genuinely good for your turf, so keep doing it. Just know it is upkeep, not odor removal. For pet smell, DIY is a temporary fix at best.
Why Spotless
Plenty of crews will rinse your turf with a hose, which spreads the problem instead of fixing it. Here is what makes Spotless different.
The only St. George service that deep-cleans your turf and picks up after your dogs. The scoopers here do not clean turf. The cleaners do not scoop. We do both.
We live here. We know what 160-degree turf does to pet odor, when to clean, and how to adjust dwell time so the enzyme works instead of flashing off.
If the pet smell comes back within 100 days, we re-spray free. On a Deep Clean or The Works membership, that becomes an unlimited odor-back guarantee with no time limit.
